CLASH! 2008

Based on Actionwork's international award winning hit show Silent Scream, we are proud to present to you our new anti-bullying roadshow 'CLASH!'

CLASH!’ is a high impact production tackling bullying and victimisation. This shows provides an important focus, for schools' anti-bullying campaigns. CLASH! allows schools to make a strong statement of non-tolerance towards bullying, while giving their students the chance to explore the issues, and the importance of their own role in combating it. CLASH!'s dual goal is awareness-raising and empowerment.

This production has attracted widespread acclaim during recent tours, from audiences, host venues and the media alike. In addition:

  • CLASH! can be performed twice in one day
  • CLASH! raises key questions within the issues
  • CLASH! is highly entertaining, as well as being powerful, evocative and thought provoking

About CLASH!

'Clash' is about people who suffer bullying becuase they are different. We see a wide range of bullying used including cyberbullying, violence, isolation and name calling. Tony gets it from all sides - and he's at the limits of his endurance. Why does he get picked on? How can he stop the beatings from the school bully Brandon? How can he tell people he's had enough? How is he going to face his new girlfriend? 'Clash' is a two-person play exploring the horrors of bullying and victimisation, and is aimed at young people between the ages of 9 to 18 years. It charts Tony's journey through reality and fantasy, as he searches for an end to the terror. This show is powerful, gritty with an element of humour and has a fusion of styles inlcuding song, dance and storytelling.

The Workshop

How can Tony liberate himself? The play offers no solutions. Instead we ask the audience to join us in exploring some of the paths that Tony can choose to take, and give them a chance to confront his situation creatively. The message that we are all responsible for the struggle against bullying is central.

The Film

This 40 minute film is a valuable tool for any PSHE lesson. In addition to showing some of the horrors of bullying, we are also given examples of how to deal with difficult situations, bullying statistics, interviews, follow-up work and a host of resources.
