Actionwork® were one of the first theatre companies to introduce Forum Theatre and Theatre of the Oppressed techniques to the UK. We have over 25-years experience of working with Forum Theatre in a wide range of situations and over a wide range of topics and issues.
Forum Theatre is one of the techniques of the Theatre of the Oppressed pioneered by Brazilian theatre Director Augusto Boal. Forum theatre uses theatre techniques to explore, challenge and liberate people from oppression, bullying and other issues that may be affecting their lives. Forum Theatre is a tool for empowerment, a tool for liberation and a tool that can affect positive change in people's lives.
The Actionwork® Forum Theatre Roadshows can be used to help students, schools and teachers explore any topic or issue in the National Curriculum along with helping across all PSHE subjects taught in schools. The Actionwork® Forum Theatre sessions are amongst the most powerful and empowering creative and social theatre workshops out there. Participate and be preparted for your life to change for the better.
The Roadshow lasts for 120-minutes and can be performed to a whole year group at a time.
The Roadshow can be complemented by additional creative interactive workshops - please ask for details.
